Hi Rick, thanks very much for all the lessons you post, I was wondering if you had a pdf copy of your ‘C Jam Blues’ solo? I noticed the pdf had the chords for the blues which is helpful, but your sweet solo is not included. I noticed soundslice is up for that lesson, but I had a couple problems printing from soundslice (the font was quite small, as well as it looks like it only prints by ‘screen capture’ not the whole document at once, Im not sure if its me or soundslice?). Anyway, I love the lessons and Im learning a lot, keep up the great work and have a wonderful Christmas season!

    David,

The Soundslice should print okay and I believe you can adjust the size as well. Be sure to check out all the options on the right-hand side of the screen (after you click on the gear). It will definitely print more than one page because I just tested that and it printed quite nicely except for a rather large margin on the right-hand side of the page (and I just wrote to Soundslice about that so let’s see what they say).

    Thanks and Happy Holidays.

Hi Rick, yes I was able to print it, although I believe it chops off a couple of bars from each page? (on the right hand side of the page, I wasnt sure if that was the same margin issue that you were referring to). I was also able to adjust the font size on the soundslice app but it didnt affect the font size on the printed page (my eyes are not the best which is why I asked about the pdf and printing in a bit larger font size:-) its a nice solo so it will give me some good material to learn over the holidays. Thanks again for your help, its much appreciated!

      David,

Yes, I agree that it would better to be able to adjust the font size for printing (I did get in touch with Adrian at Soundslice and he says the “size” setting adjusts the on-screen size only and doesn’t effect the printout). There shouldn’t be anything getting cut off though (no measures are missing). It’s just setting a wider-than-necessary margin on the right hand side. I wrote to Adrian and sent him an example, so he knows about the issues. He’s been very responsive to issues with his program in the past, so hopefully he’ll be able to offer a solution.

Hi Rick, thanks very much for your help, I just sent you an email with a couple of attachments (with pictures of the printouts from soundslice), perhaps its a technical problem on my side but it was still missing a couple bars on each sheet, (which you can check out on the email). Soundslice is a great feature, I love that you can change keys/slow down the playback, very helpful when learning :-) keep the the great lessons, thanks again!

      David,
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll look at the images you sent me and forward them to Soundslice. It is still a very new program and under development, so there’s been a lot of back and forth and dealing with technical issues that might not be happening on every single machine. Let’s see what they say.
      All the best,
      ~ Rick
